Le test de génétique

Réalisé à partir d'une simple prise de sang, le test consiste à identifier une anomalie (mutation) de gènes spécifiques à l'origine d'un risque élevé de développer un cancer chez les personnes qui en sont porteuses. Les délais d'obtention des résultats sont de plusieurs mois pour l'identification de l'anomalie génétique dans la famille. Les délais sont plus courts (quelques semaines) pour l'identification de cette même anomalie génétique, dès lors qu'elle est connue, chez un apparenté.

Consultations en oncogénétique

Lors de votre premier appel au secrétariat, quelques questions vous sont posées pour initier votre dossier. Si nécessaire, un questionnaire vous est adressé par courrier. Après étude de ces éléments par l’équipe, un rendez-vous peut vous être proposé. A défaut, un courrier d’explication vous est adressé.

Oncogenetics consultation

In a single family, an unusual number of cancers and/or diagnoses at an early age may suggest a genetic predisposition. Such predispositions are thought to play a major role in some 5% of adult cancer and in certain childhood tumours.
Genetic analysis may identify the causative abnormality and whether family members are or are not carriers. Thus, appropriate preventive and monitoring measures can be put in place.

Treatment of localized breast cancer

The treatment of patients with localized breast cancer typically involves surgery and is often complemented by additional systemic therapies such as chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, in addition to radiotherapy.

Pathways of care in breast pathology

Patients referred to Gustave Roussy present a spectrum of breast anomalies, ranging from benign conditions to pre-cancerous lesions and invasive tumors. Some patients do not have an established diagnosis of breast cancer or any other breast pathology, requiring both diagnosis and treatment. Others have already been diagnosed with breast cancer and are seeking treatment options or enrollment in clinical trials.
